Stubbs served as the honorary mayor of Talkeetna, Alaska from July 1997 until his death in 2017. He was a beloved figure who would visit the local pub daily to enjoy his favorite treat, catnip-flavored water served in a wine glass.
Beloved by locals and tourists alike, Stubbs became a cultural icon who drew visitors from around the world to the small Alaskan town just to meet their feline mayor.
